A Bad Day In The Pasture – from Rick Frost
It was reported on the boob tube this morning, that McCain/Palin had moved into the lead in the race for the White House.
Well America, all I can say is, “ MOO”. It has become apparent to me that I live in a nation of brain-dead cattle. All of who seem intent on passing themselves off as human beings.
There is no excuse for voting for a McCain/Palin Ticket. Actually, the only one that has even a semblance of a reasonable claim for such an action is John McCain and that is because he’s closer to full blown senility than he is to even having a clue.
According to some pollsters, over half the nation wants to vote for a senile old man and his red, white and blue bikini clad, gun toting, ponytail waving cheerleader. McCain has gone as far as to hijack Obama’s “bus to change.” I just can’t figure out how McCain is going to fit the 176 lobbyists in his employ onto the bus? As for Ms. “Bridge To Nowhere”, remember something folks – quite often when you look under a pony’s tail – you find exactly what you are supposed to find – A HORSE’S ASS!
A senile old man and his bubble-brained cheerleader tell the nation that red is really blue ….. and half the nation nearly pisses itself getting in line to agree. Is it any wonder our standard of living has gone South; that the multi-nationals and filthy rich find us to be such easy pickings; that we’ve lost the respect of most of the civilized, rational world. We, for all intents and purposes, have become a nation of brain-dead cattle. The only benefit being uniformity of language – we all understand what “moo” means.
One angry bovine/creature said to me, “ If you don’t like it here – move to China.” That’s funny. I don’t have to move to China. I figure, give China about 10 more years – and they’ll buy us (no installment plan necessary). And they’ll receive more assistance accomplishing the purchase, from McCain’s 176 Lobbyist’s, than our country will ever receive from these lobbyists in any other endeavor we undertake as a nation.
Palin shakes her pony-tail and utters,” I stopped the bridge to nowhere.” She completely neglects to tell you that in the beginning she was one of its staunchest supporters. She also neglects to tell you that she grabbed the money for the project and spent it on other things – an action that does not sit well with anybody that has any respect for the tenets of Democracy.
Meanwhile, McCain chirps “change, change, change.” I think McCain overheard Obama use the word and decided to appropriate it. The only difference being that Obama actually understands the definition of the word. When McCain says it … it seems more like a testament to his senility. I mean, how do you vote with George Bush 90% of the time; make statements like, “we might be in Iraq for another 100 years; employ 176 Lobbyists – and refer to yourself as an agent of change? Its senility! John McCain is obviously a very confused old man.
All I can say is, if McCain and Palin are elected – 4 years from now, every one of you yelling “change …change..change” right now – will be yelling can you spare any change … change .. change. That is what you can expect from four years of a McCain/Palin help the rich/piss on the poor economic policy.
All indicators are pointing towards a close election (only God knows why – I sure can’t figure it out). But, given that advance warning the FBI, Justice Dept., etc. should start making plans to secure the voting apparatus now! Not that the Republicans would stoop to steal an election or anything (see Bush vs. Gore –2000; see Bush vs. Carey 2004). Ya know what they say about things coming in threes.
Til then, let me leave you with something that all American’s can understand: “Moo
! Moo! Moo! Moo!”
What used to be utterly ridiculous? Is now udderly scary!
Seriously – It is time we start making some noise people. We let Bush skate for eight years. We paid for it with unprecedented violations of our privacy and our children’s future security. Yeah – WE BLEW IT! That doesn’t mean we have to seal the deal with 4 more years of the same!

HELP AND HOPE
The song, Something Special, was selected by hardcoremix.com for rotation. They billed it as a “Hot New Song” and kaboom – did it ever take off. Four days of air play and the song was #4 on the Hardcoremix.com Chart. An additional five days in rotation and when the new chart came out on Aug. 20th – Something Special was #2. On Aug. 27th - It topped the Chart - where, thanks to the efforts of Indie Fans and the hardwork of hardcoremix.com personnel, it remained for 9 Full Weeks. On Oct. 7th, 2007 it slid back to #2 on the Chart and on Oct. 14th - it fell to #4. But, a great new song had shot into the #2 position after being on the Charts gfor 11days - Moon Dog House by our friends Gandalf Murphy & The Slambovian Circus of Dreams. Way to go GANDALF !!!!!
This is a source of really huge excitement for a musician that is stone cold broke. To be able to record a CD with virtually no money in your pocket and then to watch as the press and listening public embrace it. Its’ as if they are saying its o.k. that you’re broke – we wanted to hear songs – not the latest sounds produced by the most expensive foot pedals that money can buy.
Fans, music listeners, musicians, and industry professionals – you have all been incredibly inspirational. Not one of you said I couldn’t do it. Think about that – isn’t it amazing – not one individual said, “Wait – you can’t make a CD with no money.” Not one of you turned it into an elitist game. I have yet to pick up a feature, or review, that says ‘ if only he had x amount of this, in combination with x amount of that, he could have ect.,ect., ect.
No, all I got was commentary on the songs. “Refreshingly different …. Can’t really compare to anyone else which is certainly original …powerful and spiritual lyrics .. smoking guitar licks …..hard to believe so much sound from one man with an acoustic guitar…” You folks removed the handicap of poverty, by refusing to acknowledge it was one. By concentrating on the music and lyrics you made everything else inconsequential. And, I am so thankful and filled with admiration, respect, and love for each and every one of you.
